What is a Faith in Action program?
Faith in Action, a program of the Robert Wood Johnson
Foundation, is a nationwide network of interfaith volunteer
caregiving programs. These programs bring together professionally trained volunteers of many faiths for care giving to community members of all ages who may need help because of chronic health problems, lack of transportation, absence of local support, or disabilities.

What will the volunteers do?
Volunteer activities may include shopping for groceries,
providing rides to medical appointments, running errands,
providing companionship through visiting or phoning and providing respite care for family caregivers. Volunteers are not available as daily caregivers or for all-day service. Volunteers are also trained to recognize when someone needs additional social services and can function as a liaison to the appropriate agencies and organizations in Lake County. Faith in Action fosters caring relationships between volunteers and their neighbors with longterm health needs to enhance independence
and quality of life.

What if I need help or know someone
in the community that needs help?

Call the Southeast Lake County Faith in Action office at 1-847-433- 9411 to request a volunteer. We will call back within 24 hours, if you have to leave a message.
